KUB and Knoxville to host upcoming job fairs

The KUB job fair will be on March 21, and Knoxville's job fair is set for April 3.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — People searching for work will have a chance to learn more about job opportunities through the Knoxville Utilities Board, and through the city itself.

KUB said it plans to host a job fair and community expo at the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley, located at 967 Street. The job fair is scheduled for March 21 from 2 p.m. through 6:30 p.m. and KUB staff will be on-hand at the event to speak with customers and potential applicants.

Customers will have a chance to learn more about KUB Fiber, how to save energy and water, ways they can go green and possible home upgrades that would help them save money on their energy bill. 

A few weeks later, Knoxville leaders said they plan to host a job fair for people interested in working in any of the city's departments. Representatives from the Public Service Department, the Parks and Recreation Department, the Knoxville Police Department, the Knoxville Fire Department, the Engineering Department and the Human Resources Department.

The Knoxville Job Fair and Career Expo will be on April 3 at the Public Works Service Center, located at 3131 Morris Avenue.  A release said it would be an open-house style event, and attendees will be able to apply for jobs on-site. 

Equipment and vehicles used by different departments will also be located outside the building, giving guests a chance to get a closer look.

Anyone interested in applying for a job can also find open positions online, through the city's online portal.
