KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Knoxville Pride groups are organizing an event in early November to support another Pride group in Blount County.
The upcoming Fall Festival will benefit Blount Pride, a nonprofit that advocates for the local LGBTQ+ community while also facilitating different events. Some of those events provide resources for anyone experiencing homelessness, while others give LGBTQ+ people a chance to learn some self-defense and situational awareness tips.
Knox Pride and SoKno Pride are working together on the Fall Festival. Profits from the event will go towards Blount Pride.
It starts at 12 p.m. on Nov. 9 at the Knox Pride Community Center, located at 4028 Chapman Highway. The festival will also extend to nearby Sam Duff Park, according to flyers for the event. Organizers said vendors are expected to come out, along with live performances.
Food vendors will also offer treats and meals, and people will be able to enjoy crafts and games.
"Join us for a fun-filled day at the Fall Festival, an event that promises joy, entertainment, and community spirit," organizers said on social media.
