KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — According to Knox Pride, it costs around $10,000 each month to keep their doors open, leading into the current "critical financial challenge."
Knox Pride said they are dedicated to providing essential services, resources and advocacy for LGBTQ+ people and allies within the East Tennessee community. They do this by offering safe spaces and support groups for everyone in need.
"We strive to create an inclusive and supportive environment where everyone can thrive," Knox Pride said.
The group said that sustaining the operation costs them significant expenses each month just to keep the doors open. It is asking for any contribution, "no matter how small," to go towards overhead costs.
"Your support will help us maintain our programs, pay our staff, and ensure that our doors remain open to those who need us most," the group said.
The group also asked that the word of its financial challenge be spread, allowing others to help in any way they can. Other than financial help, the group asks that anybody willing to help should also consider volunteering. Knox Pride said that it is always in need of dedicated volunteers to help with events, programs and outreach efforts.
Knox Pride also asks for those who find it important to stand up for LGBTQ+ equality and inclusion within the community.
"Together, we can ensure that Knox Pride continues to be a beacon of hope and support for our LGBTQ+ community. Thank you for considering this urgent appeal, and thank you for your unwavering support," Knox Pride said.
