KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Knox Pride Community and Resource Center will be expanding its location, the nonprofit said on Monday. It will be moving into the space between its resource center and its thriftique space, adding around 1,500 square feet of space.

The nonprofit said it could move into the new space after a $10,000 donation from Grayson Subaru. However, Knox Pride it hopes to match the car dealership's donation and raise another $10,000 to help fund its work and equip the new space.

The nonprofit organizes a variety of mutual aid efforts, such as a community fridge that helps provide hundreds of fresh and nutritious meals to people in need, regardless of who they are. Knox Pride offers food and other kinds of support regardless of who people are or how they identify, helping the community with no questions asked.

It also has programs providing life skills classes for people, support groups for young people and their parents, and hosts talks by experts on topics like buying a house. It has also hosted a forum for candidates in the upcoming Knox County election and operates a community garden. Knox Pride also works with LGBTQ+ groups across East Tennessee.

"Your support is crucial in helping us achieve this milestone," said John Camp, Knox Pride's executive director. "Together, we can ensure that the Knox Pride Community and Resource Center continues to thrive and support our community."

Anyone who wants to donate can do so online at Knox Pride's website, or stop by the center. It hopes to raise $10,000 by the end of July.
