Farragut Pointe apartments, an affordable housing community, opens after Wednesday ribbon-cutting ceremony

The three-story, 124-unit, $30 million apartment complex on Loop Road in West Knoxville

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Knox County leaders along with Tennessee Housing Agency's eastern division leader joined Hopeful Housing on Wednesday for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Farragut Pointe apartment homes.

This ribbon cutting was held at 3 p.m. and unveiled the new three-story, 124-unit, $30 million apartment complex on Loop Road in West Knoxville. The apartments include a one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom option that is available to people earning 60% or less of the Area Median Income in Knoxville, according to a release from Farragut Pointe. 

Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs along with Tennessee Housing's Katie Moore attended the ceremony. According to a release, the apartment complex was built through a "public-private partnership."

The apartment complex includes a community center with fitness equipment, a swimming pool and a dog park. Apartment units are built with balconies, granite countertops and stainless-steel appliances.

"These 124 families will be able to enjoy new, clean, and safe housing while taking advantage of the public amenities in the area, such as excellent schools, parks, and libraries while also living nearby employment centers such as Turkey Creek and the new Farragut Town Center," the release said.

According to the release, Farragut Pointe was designed by PDI Architecture from South Carolina, and built by Colmar Contracting, Inc. out of North Carolina with Civil Engineering provided by Adurra Group, Inc. from Knoxville.
