Knox Co. Parks and Recreation Department to host variety of events for first week of June

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tons of events are taking place with the Knox County Parks and Recreation Department to kick off the start of June.

"All these events are FREE and open to the public, so meet us at the park!' the organization said on social media. 

The organization will be hosting five separate events from June 4 to June 8, involving everything from fun with the family dog to catching some free fish. 

The first event will be "Bark in The Park" on June 4. The dog-centric fun will run from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the New Harvest Dog Park at 4775 New Harvest Lane.

The second event will be "Park and Play" on June 6. This event will run from 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. at Carl Cowan Park at 10058 South Northshore Drive. 

"Sunset Cinema" will be on June 7 from 7 p.m. - 10 p.m., also at Carl Cowan Park. The movie playing on the night will be Disney's "Elemental."

Another event the department is hosting on June 7 is "Second Saturday - The New Quintet" which will run from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. at The Cove at Concord Park at 11808 South Northshore Drive.

The final event hosted by the Knox County Parks and Recreation Department will be "Free Fishing Day" at the Cove at Concord Park. The free event will start at 8 a.m.
