HARRIMAN, Tenn. — Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) announced Wednesday it is closing the boat ramp, fishing and parking areas at its Kingston Fossil Plant starting Monday, Nov. 4.

TVA crews will be closing the three areas at the fossil plant to install a new water line from Swan Pond Road. The closure is expected to last through February 2025.

During the closure, boaters can use the Kingston Boat Ramp, located at 333 W. Race St., or the Caney Creek Boat Ramp, located at 2515 Roane State Hwy.

According to TVA officials, the new water line will serve Kingston Energy Complex, which is being built to maintain reliable and resilient power to customers while also reducing TVA's carbon footprint. The complex's new generating units will add 1,500 megawatts to the grid.
