KFD rescues man stuck in tree on Vermont Ave

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Knoxville Fire Department rescued a man stuck in a tree Saturday afternoon on Vermont Ave. 

Crews were called to the scene at 1:57 p.m. The man was rescued from the tree, which was approximately 30 feet in the air, and brought safely to the ground within an hour of the call, KFD says. 

According to KFD, the man initially appeared injured but later refused transport or medical care. They say the technical expertise of the KFD crew and the KFD tiller truck were critical to removing the man from the tree quickly.
