KFD: No injuries after apartment fire Sunday morning

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Knoxville Fire Department responded to a fire at an apartment in West Knoxville shortly after 11 a.m. Sunday.

When crews arrived at the complex at 806 Flanders Lane, they said they saw heavy smoke from the attic and flames coming from the back of the building. 

The heaviest part of the fire was put out within 35 minutes after crews arrived. According to KFD, wind and fire caused "extensive damage to the upper floor of the building."

Crews were able to put the fire out by 12:15 p.m. KFD is working to figure out the cause.

According to KFD, the building was made up of four apartments and nine people were living there. No one was injured. The Red Cross is working to find somewhere for the occupants to go.
