KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Knoxville Fire Department is investigating a house fire that happened in the 3000 block of Linden Avenue early Sunday morning.

Fire crews responded to a call about the fire around 4:09 a.m. on Sunday. The caller advised seeing smoke, but no flames coming from the house. Upon arrival, crews reported smoke coming from the house and a male injured on the street outside of it. KFD entered the scene to discover a small fire in the kitchen.

Crews were able to extinguish the fire within 15 minutes of arrival. According to KFD, two males and one female occupied the home. Though all were able to escape the fire, one male was injured while trying to exit the house and has been transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

KFD says the house did not have working smoke alarms and has suffered significant smoke, water and fire damage. The fire Investigations Unit is on the scene and is working to determine the cause.

This investigation is ongoing.
