KPD: Wanted 18-year-old arrested after USPS vehicle carjacked in early December

The Knoxville Police Department said Kemian Strawder was arrested Thursday afternoon.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Knoxville Police Department said a person wanted in the carjacking of a U.S. Postal Service vehicle on Dec. 6, 2023, was arrested Thursday afternoon.

KPD said Kemian Strawder was arrested on juvenile petitions of carjacking and aggravated assault, as well as weapon charges. The police department said he was a juvenile at the time the USPS vehicle was carjacked on Dandridge Avenue, but he has since turned 18 years old.

Strawder was also wanted on an unrelated charge of aggravated assault stemming from an incident on Jan. 14.

He was found at a Hardee's restaurant on Clinton Highway, near Old Callahan Drive. He had a loaded gun in his possession when he was arrested, according to KPD.
