KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Saturday is going to be a busy day for Keep Knoxville Beautiful when volunteers venture into the Old City to clean up litter and further the organization's mission of keeping the city litter-free.

The environmental nonprofit partnered with two other organizations for its Saturday Spruce Up event, starting at 10 a.m. on Nov. 15. KnoxFill, a zero-waste store in Knoxville, and Goodwill are helping out.

KnoxFill will provide a 10% off coupon at its store for volunteers, and Goodwill will also bring a truck so volunteers can bring used items to donate.

The event starts at 400 West Jackson Avenue, and volunteers will be tasked with picking up litter in the area. Keep Knoxville Beautiful will provide litter pickers, gloves, trash bags and safety vests. It also recommends volunteers wear long pants with closed-toes shoes, and said people should bring water for the cleanup effort.

The cleanup event also falls on America Recycles Day, meant to promote recycling across the country.

Anyone interested in joining the Saturday Spruce Up event can sign up ahead of time online.
