KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — People waiting to catch a bus in downtown Knoxville will be able to easily protect themselves from the sun after Knoxville Area Transit began offering free sunscreen at one of its largest stops.
It said people can get free sunscreen from green dispensers at the Knoxville Station bus stop. The dispensers are located next to Bay Q and Bay L on the platform, and next to the trolley stop in front of the station. The sunscreen was made available through the United Cancer Support Foundation, KAT said on social media.
Knoxville has seen a long series of sweltering days in the past few weeks, with temperatures hovering in the low 90s. Applying sunscreen can help protect people's skin from sunburn and help prevent cancer by absorbing or reflecting UV rays.
The Knoxville Station bus stop is located on Church Avenue, near the Knoxville Civic Auditorium and Coliseum.
