BRISTOL, Va. — Legendary News 5 (WCYB) anchor Johnny Wood passed away at the age of 82 on Monday.
Wood died peacefully at 8:20 a.m. at NHC in Bristol, his wife Mary told News 5.
Wood was with News 5 for 44 years and retired in 2012. He was known for his many years anchoring the morning newscasts, his weekly fishing reports, and his lunch with Johnny segments.
