KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Ijams Nature Center is hosting "Shine On," on Tuesday, a variety show fundraiser to help East Tennessee communities affected by Hurricane Helene's historic flooding.
The event is completely free to attend, but donations are requested. According to the nature center, all donation money will go to the East Tennessee Foundation.
Gates open for the event at 6:30 p.m. with shows running from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. EDT. Ijams said there will be a variety of musicians, including Adeem the Artist and Bender Kills. There will also be four comedians including Brandi Augustus, Alex Stokes, Gail Grantham and Lena Allison. The nature center also said it would bring out Doug the Juggler to perform.
"We call East Tennessee home, and our neighbors all over the mountain counties need our help," Ijams said. "Food trucks and beverages will be on-site with items available for purchase. Photo i.d. required for alcohol sales."
The center said the audience is encouraged to bring folding chairs and blankets for lawn seating.
