LOUDON COUNTY, Tenn. — A crash on I-75 South near the I-40 split temporarily closed the road and backed up traffic for miles Tuesday afternoon, according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation.
By 4:22 p.m. Eastern Time, the road was back open and the crash had been mostly cleared.
It said the crash was reported at around 3:42 p.m. Eastern Time. It closed I-75 South after the Highway 321 exit. Traffic was backed up for miles in both directions — to the Sugarlimb Road exit in one direction and to the I-40 split in the other direction.
