A TDOT spokesperson confirms Interstate 40 reopened at 8:30 after being closed for a vehicle fire.
Original Story:
Interstate 40 in West Knox County closed Monday night after a vehicle caught fire.
At 8:15, Knox County dispatch confirmed both east and west bound lanes were closed as a result, though I-40 Westbound had reopened by 8:25 p.m.
The TDOT Smartway Map expected the scene to be cleared by 9 p.m.
