Knoxville — Soon, people can enjoy a new view of the city of Knoxville.
The Hyatt Place Rooftop Bar will be open to the general public for the first time on Wednesday. The space is located 10 stories up and features a southeastern view.
The Hyatt Place hotel first opened its doors in late December. The renovated building was mostly vacant before Dover Development purchased it. Rick and Laurie of Dover Development are known throughout East Tennessee for taking old buildings and giving them new life.
"The important thing to us is whatever we were going to do with the space, we wanted to do it right," General Manager Trenton Keelen said.

After several successful months of private events, they decided to open up the space to everyone.
"After hosting several private events we realized how much people loved it and really wanted to open it up and give that experience to the general public," Keelen said.
Visitors can enjoy stunning views and delicious drinks at the new bar.
"Classic cocktails through a modern lens," Beverage Director Jesse Ryan said.
Cozy couches and fire pits provide spacious seating and warmth for any of those chilly fall nights coming up.
Patrons can visit the rooftop bar for the first time on Wednesday anytime from 3 p.m. to midnight. The bar will be open through Saturday.
