Hunters encouraged to bring their deers to checking stations

This Saturday the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) is collecting deer biological data for the opening say of deer rifle season.

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) is set to collect deer biological data for the opening say of deer rifle season.

The collection is set for Saturday, Nov. 18.

This data is important in determining TWRA's deer management decisions across Tennessee.

Fewer people are bringing their deer by check points because of online information guiding them, but it is helpful to provide TWRA with this data in order to continue to hunt.

They are using their samples to determine Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) within deer.

You can find locations to bring the deer on the TWRA website.
