Hollywood Wax Museum opens in Gatlinburg

East Tennessee has a new attraction, where you can get up close with some of your favorite celebrities.

Samuel L. Jackson, Angelina Jolie, Halle Berry, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Matthew McConaughey are just some of the Hollywood stars you might now see in Gatlinburg. They'll greet you as you enter the Hollywood Wax Museum. There are 90 wax figures in all. Owner/operator Teg Sundher is part of a family legacy in celebrity wax. His family also owns museums in Branson, Missouri, and sunny California."The first one was done by my grandfather in 1965 on Hollywood Boulevard," Sundher says. He says the whole idea of the waxy world is to recreate memories of your favorite film or television show. Lucille Ball, Jeannie from I Dream of Jeannie, and Donald Trump made the cut. If you're into karoke, you can become a star while singing next to dazzling pop divas like Britney Spears, Hillary Duff, Celine Dion, and Christina Aguilera. You never know who you're going to run into at the Hollywood Wax Museum. Miss USA Rachel Smith was even among the celebrities. "I've been taking pictures with everybody and just really hamming it up," she says. She says her favorite wax figure is Mr. Trump. "I can fix his hair," she says. Trump is Smith's boss, but two words she never wants to hear him say is, "you're fired." Hollywood Wax Museum's A-list celebrities are hardly apprentices. From movies, to television, to Nascar, they have it covered. Hollywood Wax Museum is located at 904 Parkway at light #8 in Gatlinburg.
