(KNOXVILLE) A historic Knoxville house that has so far avoided being demolished is up for sale.
A for-sale sign is posted in front of the Howard House on Broadway in North Knoxville. Last year, a developer planned to demolish the home but then backed out of the project
Knox Heritage told 10News on Friday it hasn't had direct contact with the sellers this time around, but is reaching out to folks who might be interested in purchasing the house. The group hopes someone can preserve the house and provide a good function for the site.
Tim Howard and his brothers inherited the house from their father, Paul Howard, who owned and preserved the home for more than 60 years.
The large house served as the former Knoxville city councilman's residence as well as the home of his plumbing and heating businesses.
Last April, Tim Howard explained to 10News that none of the siblings want to live in the home and each brother also cannot afford to purchase their siblings' share of the property.
Howard redirected calls to an email address when 10News reached out to him Friday.
