Tuesday:

The ex-wife of Tennessee Representative David Hawk testified against him during his aggravated assault trial on Tuesday.

Hawk, of Greeneville, is accused of assaulting Crystal Goan at their home last March.

Goan took the stand Tuesday to tell her side of the story. She said Hawk pulled her out of bed by her arm and dragged her to the floor. Then she described the alleged assault.

"He punched me. It was the hardest hit that you can imagine," she said.

Jurors also saw pictures of Goan taken the morning of the incident.

Hawk claims he never assaulted Goan.

The defense will call their witnesses after the state rests, which could be as early as Wednesday.

Monday:

A trial is underway in Greeneville for a state representative accused of assaulting his wife.

Representative David Hawk was arrested in March 2012 and charged with aggravated assault. Hawk's wife, Crystal, told police that he threw her out of bed and hit her in the face.

Hawk denies those claims. He says that his wife pulled a gun on him and threatened to shoot him.

A judge selected a jury to hear Hawk's case on Monday. Attorneys began opening statements in the afternoon. Testimony will continue on Tuesday.
