(WBIR) One person is dead following a crash in Cocke County, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at about 11:15 a.m. Wednesday at mile marker 434 near Newport
THP said a car ran into the back of a tractor trailer that was parked on the shoulder of the I-40 ramp. THP said a person in the car died.
Troopers said Wednesday it's not clear if the person died because of the wreck, or because of a medical emergency beforehand.
The victim has been identified as Christopher Blake, 50, from St. Louis, Missouri.
