PREVIOUS: The Knox County Sheriff's Office and the Knoxville Police Department are searching for two suspects, male and female, who were involved in a carjacking. One was identified as Tyler Christian, 32, and the other was identified as Elizabeth Terry, 31. They were charged with carjacking, and anyone who sees them should call 911.

Deputies said the carjacking incident happened after a wreck on Andersonville Pike and then proceeded to run on foot.

KCSO's K-9s and its AirWatch are helping with tracking the suspects.

KCSO also said schools in the Halls Crossroads area were on a soft lockdown as authorities are looking for the suspects. It said heavy police presence will be in the surrounding area. The sheriff's office did not give a description of the suspects.

KPD said officers responded to Locust Street near Cafego Place at around 1 p.m. Wednesday. A 40-year-old woman said she was parked in front of Summit Towers to pick up a man and a woman to take them to a bus station.

She said the man forced her out of the car while the woman pushed her down to the pavement and hit her after she tried to back in the car, KPD said. The police department said it was a white Kia sedan, and the report was corroborated by a witness.

KPD said the suspects then drove away from the scene in the victim's car, while her cell phone and other items were still in the car. KPD said officers circulated the area but could not find the suspects or the stolen car.

KPD said around an hour later, at 2:25 p.m., the car was in a crash on Andersonville Pike near Emory Road. The suspects ran from the scene and deputies were searching for them, KPD said.

This is a developing story and will be updated when more information is available.
