(KNOXVILLE) A Halls High School student was treated Friday at an area hospital after suffering an injury while working with a piece of "shop equipment," according to Rural/Metro Fire Chief Jerry Harnish.
The nature of the student's injury was not released, but Harnish said the student's life was not in danger. The accident happened about 11 a.m. Friday.
The student's name was not released.
Melissa Tindell, director of public affairs for Knox County Schools, said the injury occurred in "welding class."
Tindell, citing federal medical information laws, said she had no other information she could release.
