Greeneville man accused of killing parents

Deputies said the couple's son, Jesse Wilhoit, 35, was taken into custody in connection to the murders. His bond is set at $2 million.

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. — The Greene County Sheriff's Department (GCSD) arrested a suspect in a double murder Thursday. 

According to a press release from the sheriff's department, deputies responded to a home in the 500 block of Hartman Lane in Greeneville where they found two people dead. Officials identified the victims as Cassandra Wilhoit, 68, and Ray "Allen" Wilhoit, 60.  

Deputies said the couple's son, Jesse Wilhoit, 35, was taken into custody in connection to the murders. After consulting the District Attorney's Office, GCSD detectives charged Wilhoit with two counts of first degree murder.  His bond is set at $2 million. He is expected to appear in Greene County Sessions Court for his arraignment on Monday morning at 8:30 a.m. 

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation agents assisted the GCSD Criminal Investigation Division with the investigation.
