KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee football added its first 2025 five-star recruit when the Vols landed Brentwood Academy quarterback George MacIntyre on Monday, Jan. 22.
According to the 247 Sports composite ranking, the junior star is ranked the No. 15 overall player, the No. 3 quarterback in the 2025 class, and the No. 1 junior from Tennessee.
MacIntyre received 36 total offers, including other considerable schools on his radar like Alabama, LSU, Clemson, and Michigan. He is the first five-star recruit in the 2025 class and the first quarterback to commit.
The 6-foot-5 1/2, 182-pounder is the No. 2 rated passer in the 2025 class according to according to 247Sports. MacIntyre completed 285 of his 423 passing attempts for 3,229 yards and 25 touchdowns just in the 2023 season. As a sophomore in 2022, he completed 175 passes for 2,341 yards and 19 touchdowns.
The Nashville native has said in interviews that being close to home and playing in the state he grew up in is appealing. MacIntrye has also mentioned the fanbase at UT is something special, and he has seen a lot of growth in the program with Josh Heupel as head coach.
