Army Specialist Jason Hovater, 24, was killed in Afghanistan last Sunday.
Friends and family held visitation at Lake City Christian Fellowship Church, with a funeral set for 8 p.m.
Hovater will be buried Tuesday morning at the Tennessee Military Cemetery on Lyons View Pike, with a military procession from Lake City into Knoxville.
