Former Tennessee Gov. Don Sundquist weighs in Sunday about why he supports Donald Trump for president, why Republican lawmakers should speak their minds and why the GOP in general should focus on grassroots-style campaigning.
Sundquist, who also served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1983 to 1995, is the guest on this week’s edition of “Inside Tennessee” on WBIR 10News.
The governor from 1995 to 2003, he touches on a number of state and national political topics, including the presidential race, the economy and just what it would take for a Democrat to win a major seat in the Republican-heavy state of Tennessee.
The 30-minute political and public affairs program kicks off at 9:30 a.m.
The show, which was taped on Thursday, features a panel comprised of Don Bosh, an attorney and Democrat, Susan Williams, a Republican and public relations specialist, and 10News reporters Mike Donila and John North.
WBIR reporter Michael Crowe fills in Sunday as moderator for anchor John Becker.
Editor's Note: We want to make a correction surrounding a comment made on Inside Tennessee. Gary Johnson and his wife, Dee, divorced. She subsequently died of natural causes.
