PLANT CITY, Fla. — Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Saturday morning announced the opening of three state-run fuel depots in the Tampa Bay area where residents can get up to ten gallons of free gas in the aftermath of Hurricane Milton.
Here's where the first three fuel sites are located:
- Plant City - 1810 South Park Road
- Bradenton - 280 Kay Road
- St. Petersburg - 800 1st Avenue South
Gas will only be provided to vehicles, not portable gas tanks, according to the Governor's Office.
The governor said three more fuel depots are in the works, one closer to the heart of Tampa, one in a different part of Pinellas County and one in Sarasota County. He said they may open more, depending on demand.
The announcement comes as many in the Tampa Bay are waiting in long lines for gas, as many stations are either out of fuel or without power.
