Ask anyone the best place to record a country music record and 9 out of 10 will probably say Nashville Tennessee. True, this may be where country music lives, however it's not necessarily where it was born.
Back in 1927, recordings were made in Bristol known as The Bristol Sessions, a collection of what many referred to at the time as hillbilly music.
Now visitors can experience Bristol's notch in history at the Birthplace of Country Music Museum. The museum is very interactive with highlights like the Bristol Sessions listening station. Other attractions include vintage equipment and instruments along with many stations allowing guests to engulf themselves in the music experience with touch screen sound editing and even a chance to record your own single.
The museum is now open in downtown Bristol.
