ROANE COUNTY, Tenn. — The Roane County Chamber Ambassador team is collecting donations for its second 'Say Yes to the Prom Dress' event.
The event aims to help every eligible Roane County student attend their high school prom, regardless of financial difficulties by collecting financial and attire donations from members of the community.
The team is currently collecting dresses, tuxedos, shoes and accessories they no longer use.
Donations can be dropped off at Harriman Care and Rehab at 240 Hannah Rd., Harriman, Tenn. 37748.
"With your help, we can give teens in need confidence, pride, and an amazing experience for their prom night," Taelor Banks wrote in a press release.
On March 7 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Roane County high schoolers can visit the Jim Jenry Event Center at 411 N. 3rd St., Kingston, Tenn. to shop for their dream attire.
In 2019, the event helped 76 young men and women attend their proms.
Dresses are priced at $10, and all proceeds benefit a local nonprofit organization. Last year, organizers were able to donate $1,000 to the Child Advocacy Center.
