Step inside AR Workshop in Knoxville, and it's like you're walking through a real-life Pinterest board.
Amy Thomas, who says she grew up in a creative home, opened the shop roughly a month ago.
"I think Knoxville needed this," Thomas said about the hands-on boutique store that is part of a growing franchise. "It's just a fun way to get out and create something you'd be proud of."
The "do-it-yourself" style workshop allows guests to pick from a list of projects that include everything from chunky-knitted blankets to wood panel platters, and then instructors walk them step-by-step through the process, so everyone leaves with something they're proud of, even the least artistic guests.
"People have fun when they're here. It's relaxed. When people leave, they're happy," Thomas said, adding that their BOYB policy is also a big hit.
