Film Fest Knox returning for second year, offering 4 full days of cinema and other events in November

Visit Knoxville expects people from all over the country to travel to the city to screen the slate of films.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Knoxville cinephiles should mark their calendars for the second-ever Film Fest Knox.

The tickets are on sale for the multi-day event running from Nov. 14 to Nov. 17. Visit Knoxville expects people from all over the country to travel to the city to screen the new slate of films, many of which have been produced in East Tennessee.

"FILM FEST KNOX is an annual event held every fall in downtown Knoxville, with screenings hosted at the Regal Riviera. In addition to three full days of film programming, FILM FEST KNOX features regional and local filmmaking competitions, workshops, and social events," the festival said on its website.

In addition to the tickets, VIP ticket holders can attend panel discussions, parties and even an elevator pitch. According to Kim Bumpas, Visit Knoxville's executive director, the organizers are working to build on the success of 2023's festival, which earned national attention.

"If it keeps doing what it's doing, it will be one of the premier regional film festivals in the southeast in just a few short years and that's the track that we are on," Bumpas said.

Tickets start at $50, allowing pass holders to choose four blocks from any of the 20-plus screenings throughout the festival. With an $80 ticket, pass holders will have access to eight blocks.

The more expensive experiences include a $100 ticket that gives access to the closing party, panels, the opening night film and an elevator live pitch. The full VIP experience starting at $250 will involve everything in the event, including a cocktail hour with Darren Hughes. Both options will also include a film fest T-shirt.
