KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Knoxville Fire Department said one person was dead after a house fire in North Knoxville Wednesday evening.
The fire was reported on Hillock Road at around 7:53 p.m. KFD said they received a call saying that a neighbor's house was on fire, and when crews arrived fire was coming from the front of the structure. KFD said within ten minutes, crews had put out most of the fire and started searching for additional fires inside the attic and walls.
When they started searching the home more thoroughly, they said a dead person was found in the room for most of the fire was located. KFD also said a dog and cat were missing Wednesday night, and the home received significant fire damage.
KFD said the American Red Cross was helping a family member who was not home during the fire.
