Farragut's 'Light the Park' set for Nov. 25, kicking off holiday season with festive lights and activities

"Be there with your family and friends as Santa flips the switch on all the holiday fun!" Visit Farragut said on its website.

FARRAGUT, Tenn. — The holiday season is finally starting to creep in and Farragut will soon get in the festive spirit.

The holiday season will kick off in Founders Park next Monday with a "Light the Park" event set to begin at 5:30 p.m. and run until 7 p.m. The event will have live entertainment, hot chocolate to keep the chills away and tons of Christmas lights.

"Be there with your family and friends as Santa flips the switch on all the holiday fun!" Visit Farragut said on its website.

Visit Farragut said the lights would be along Campbell Station Road from the I-40 commuter lot to the Campbell Station Plaza at the intersection of Campbell Station Road and Kinston Pike.

The event in the park will be completely free and starting on Nov. 26, Light The Park will run daily from dusk until 10 p.m.

"Enjoy strolling through the park, mailing letters to Santa and checking out the daily giveaways from local businesses and groups," the website said.

There is also a new synthetic ice skating rink in Farragut, giving the look and feel of real ice. The rink is set to open on Saturday.
