FARRAGUT, Tenn. — Rural Metro crews rescued three dogs after responding to calls about a house fire on Dec. 27, according to the department's spokesperson.
Rural Metro said crews responded to calls about a house fire on Firewood Lane at around 10:45 a.m. and when they arrived, they saw smoke coming from an upstairs bonus room window. Crews quickly extinguished the fire in the room, but most of the home had smoke damage.
According to a release, the house's occupants were not home but three dogs were inside. Crews rescued the dogs, according to the release.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, and Rural Metro said people should remember to turn off Christmas decorations when they leave home to avoid fires.
