10About Town Things to Do: Nov. 2 through Nov. 7

Here are some events taking place in Knoxville during the first week of November.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. —

Thursday

Head over to the auditorium at the Student Union on UT's campus for a live-action version of the hit show Wild'N Out from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. This event is open to the public and is free, however, you must register ahead of time. 

Friday

HoLa Hora Latina is hosting a Dia De Los Muertos celebration at the Emporium on Gay Street from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. There will be themed art created by in-house artists, Tamales and Pan de Muerto for sale and an Ofrenda put together by the community. 

Yee-Haw Brewing is hosting a full night dedicated to the amazing music from country music legend and East Tennessee icon, Dolly Parton. The show is for 18 and up unless accompanied by an adult. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the music starts at 7:30 p.m. You can buy tickets here

Saturday

Ijams is hosting a DIY Basket Bird House event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. In this workshop, you'll delve into the art of basket making, starting with the basics and culminating in a charming handmade basket birdhouse. This event is a pay-what-you-can pricing model. You can register for the event here. 

UT is hosting a family-friendly tailgate and watch party for the Vols football game on Saturday at the Humanities and Social Sciences Building Lawn. This tailgate will have a DJ, a live band, a cash bar, food, bouncy houses, a 360 photo-both and more. This event will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Sunday

BarrelHouse Knoxville is hosting a Harvest Festival on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 7 p.m. There will be live music and vendors, along with an apple butter cider release. 

The Lady Vols Basketball team is taking on the USA Basketball Women's National Team at 6 p.m. at the Food City Center. You can buy tickets here.

Monday

The East Tennessee History Center is hosting a Cherokee Genealogy 101 program from noon to 1 p.m. This lecture will simplify the complex concepts of Cherokee genealogy. This event is free and will be held in the Bilo-Nelson Auditorium on the first floor of the History Center.

Tuesday

Knox Pride is hosting a craft night focused on cake decorating from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This event is free and is taking place at 4028 Chapman Highway.
