East Tennessee Children's Hospital announced Wednesday they have a new, very small “champion.”
His name is AJ Cucksey. He fought a tough battle with seven brain tumors for much of his young life, and had his final chemo treatment in 2015.
He said everyone at ETCH was always willing to help, especially when he needed it the most.
“When I was in the PICU [pediatric intensive care unit], I couldn’t walk, so every time I wanted something like breakfast, they would walk into the kitchen and bring it into my room,” said AJ.
He said everyone he’d met during his cancer battle had been really kind.
AJ will join other “Children’s Miracle Network” champions on trips to Washington D.C. and Orlando, Fla. this summer.
