SEVIER COUNTY, Tenn. — The National Weather Service has issued an elevated fire risk throughout Sevier County on Saturday. The Sevier County Emergency Management Agency also announced there is a moderate fire danger for the county.
Due to the elevated risk, no burn permits will be issued within Sevier County, SCEMA said.
SCEMA said to contact the fire department for any questions regarding burning if you live within Sevier County and to refrain from burning any debris for the rest of the day.
"Low humidity and increased winds can cause fires to spread quickly, even in controlled conditions," SCEMA said.
