KFD: No one hurt after house fire in East Knoxville

According to the Knoxville Fire Department, no one was home at the time of the fire.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Knoxville Fire Department said no one was hurt after a house fire in East Knoxville.

According to KFD,  dispatch received a call around 3:58 a.m. about a house fire in the 2200 block of McCalla Avenue. Crews reported heavy smoke and fire coming from the structure.

KFD said although crews worked quickly on the fire, they were met with heavy fire conditions and it seemed the structure had been burning for some time. Crews said the fire was under control around 4:36 a.m.

KFD reported that no one was home at the time of the fire. and the house was under renovation.

The home suffered heavy damage and the roof had partially collapsed.

KFD said it is working to determine a cause. Anyone with information about the fire is asked to call 865-637-1386. All calls are anonymous.
