KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Knoxville Fire Department said no injuries were reported after crews responded to a house fire in East Knoxville on Sunday.
The fire department said three people lived in the home, but none were inside at the time the fire. A release said one person had just returned home and discovered the fire at around 4:19 p.m., telling dispatchers that the fire was in the basement.
KFD crews extinguished the fire within 10 minutes of when the call was placed. The home had fire damage in the basement and smoke damage throughout.
According to KFD, the American Red Cross is helping the three adults who lived in the home. The fire department also said it was working to find the cause of the fire.
