Duckling rescued from Fountain City duck pond now at Little Ponderosa

When the duckling was found, there were many older ducks at the pond poking at it. The woman who found him, Alexiss Carl, said the older ducks plucked the feathers off his back and he had teeth marks on his face.

A baby duckling rescued from the Fountain City duck pond is now in good hands.

When the duckling was found, there were many older ducks at the pond poking at it. The woman who found him, Alexiss Carl, said the older ducks plucked the feathers off his back and he had teeth marks on his face.

Clearly, it wasn't the right environment for a small baby duck.

The duckling spent the night at Carl's home and they brought him to Little Ponderosa Wednesday morning.

She said she's going to visit the duckling while he recovers in a better place.

"I think now whenever we get somewhere where we have more room, we might get a pet duck!" she said.

Since Carl posted to Facebook about rescuing the duck, the Little Ponderosa Zoo has received several donations.
