(WBIR) We've got great news to report: the lovable and cuddly Ice Bears mascot, Chilly Bear, is out of the hospital and recovering at home.

Chilly bruised his back and suffered a slight concussion after he was pushed down the stairs at Friday night's game in Knoxville.

Mike Murray, the president and general manager of the Ice Bears, said Chilly will be out for a couple weeks and was added to the "injured reserved list." Murray added that Chilly will have a handler in the future.

Knoxville police are still trying to figure out how Chilly fell down the stairs of the Knoxville Civic Coliseum, according to Murray. Murray said first responders had to cut open Chilly's suit to evaluate the injuries and take the person to the hospital.

He said that since the accident, people from across the country have called the Ice Bears to see how Chilly is doing.

Murray said if you can send a get well soon card to Chilly at this address:

Chilly Bear posted an update on his Facebook Sunday afternoon saying he was "really sore and still having some nausea from the concussion. I sure will miss everyone for the next couple games, but look forward to being back out there with all of you!! I appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers, as it really does mean a lot to me!!"
