A favorite eatery in downtown Knoxville will soon shut its doors, as a local chef moves into the location.

Shuck on Gay Street will soon merge with its neighbor, Cru, vacating the downtown location. However, local chef Holly Hambright said she plans to open a new restaurant, Holly's 135, in that space.

Holly's 135 will continue to serve dishes with seasonal and regional ingredients, but the menu will offer more "international" options.

"Just because we're in the South doesn't mean we're going to be doing grits in every meal," Hambright told WBIR.

The new restaurant will be open for dinner Monday through Saturday and will offer Sunday brunch.

The same company owns Shuck, Cru, and Nama. Hambright said this company is also backing her new restaurant.

Shuck in Bearden will remain open but plans to expand the menu to include some dishes from the former downtown restaurant, according to Hambright.
