Don’t be sheepish: Share your funny Christmas pageant story

It's a time-honored tradition for generations of East Tennesseans. In December, many local children will appear in their church's Nativity pageants. Sometimes with hilarious results.

The weeks leading up to Christmas Day are always a flurry activity for many families.

Many children will be appearing in their church’s Nativity Pageants giving precious performances their parents will remember forever; often times, it’s because of what goes wrong during the pageant instead of what goes right.

Mishaps during Christmas pageants make the pint-sized performers even more precious in the eyes of the audience.

Many of you may remember this adorable scene in December of 2017 that played out between 2 and 3-year-old during a Nativity Pageant at First Baptist Church of White Pine. One of the sheep took the doll and had a scuffle with “Mary”. The scuffle ended up going viral and is still being shared on social media a year later.

Knoxville Children’s Theatre is currently performing the hilarious Best Christmas Pageant Ever.

The play follows the Herdman siblings, a group of rascals that take over a Christmas Pageant and telling the story in a non-traditional way.

The play runs through Dec. 16, 2018.

Let’s admit it: we all have funny stories from our Christmas pageant pasts. Share your stories with us and we’ll read some of them on Live at Five at Four these next few days.
