KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Dollywood kicked off its 39th season in style with an entire parade throughout the park. The parade included none other than Dolly Parton herself at the center of it all.
The car that Dolly rode in through the parade included a massive bouquet adorning the entirety of the car. Those flowers are being donated to a good cause. Random Acts of Flowers is a Knoxville-based organization that specializes in the repurposing of old bouquets and then donates them to people in need.
The blooms used in Dolly's parade will be turned into "healing bouquets" for people in hospitals and other care facilities.
"We all benefit when we’re kind and compassionate. The community becomes stronger and people thrive. That’s why we deliver thousands of beautiful bouquets of recycled flowers to those struggling with injury, illness and the aging process every week in neighborhoods all over the country," the nonprofit said.
