KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Dogwood trees are blooming, and the Dogwood Trails will officially open on Monday, April 1.
Neighbors were out Friday afternoon, enjoying the beauty Knoxville has to offer — especially on the Dogwood Trails. People were walking, running and biking down the trails.
“This has got to be my most favorite place of all,” said Teresa Poppert, who lives in Knoxville. “Especially this time of year.”
The Dogwood Trails stretch more than 90 miles throughout 13 neighborhoods across Deane Hill, West Hills, Farragut and more.
“As you travel the trails, you’ll see different architecture and neighborhoods,” said Vicki Baumgartner, with Dogwood Arts. “It showcases all the parts of our cities.”
The historic trails have been around since 1955 and began as a beautification project.
Now, the community celebrates the trails and the beauty along it every April. For information about upcoming events, you can click here.
