KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tuesday may be a good day for people across Knox County to grab a meal from a restaurant, during Dine Out for Education.

On Aug. 27, around 10% of proceeds that participating restaurants make will support Knox County Schools. More than 30 restaurants across Knox County are participating in the program, committing to sharing some of their revenue with the school system. A full list of the participating restaurants is available on the Partners in Education Foundation website.

They include Mexican restaurants, American-style restaurants, coffee shops, dessert restaurants and more.

Money from the restaurants goes to a fund used to supplement costs that may not be covered by the usual Knox County Schools' budget. They can include technology needs for teachers, professional development needs and playground equipment.

A full list of school needs is also available on the Partners in Education Foundation website.
