Campbell County man faces murder charge connected to body found in vehicle

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation confirmed Joshua Cox, 33, was charged with second-degree murder tied to the death of a man in July.

CAMPBELL COUNTY, Tenn. — The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said a man is now charged with murder connected to a body being found in a vehicle in Campbell County. 

According to the TBI, agents joined the Campbell County Sheriff's Office to investigate the scene along Highway 25 West on July 17. 

Investigators found Audie Green, 62, dead with a gunshot wound inside the vehicle. 

Throughout the investigation, authorities determined Joshua Cox, 33, had been a passenger in the vehicle and was responsible for Green's death. 

Cox is being charged with one count of second-degree murder. He was served warrants at the Campbell County Jail on Monday, Aug. 5, where he is currently being held on unrelated charges.
